Young people at risk of or affected by violence attend many health care settings, presenting with a wide range of conditions. Hence, it is essential that all healthcare staff are aware of the impact of violence in our communities and have the skills to understand the context in which violence occurs. It is imperative that healthcare professionals are able to identify those at risk of violence and exploitation in order to institute support early and prevent further harm. Our overall aim is to enable our young people to lead happier, healthier and safer lives and to have the opportunities to reach their potential.
